So, you’ve had a browse through our products and you are either embarking on a new plan yourself or have a garden landscaper or interior designer/tiler to sketch out some ideas. You may not have been planning anything but after further thought, you would like to do something to improve your home and get those creative juices flowing!
Firstly you need to gather ideas. This may be browsing through magazines or watching TV shows, but you will have a strong sense of what you like and dislike. From there, you can home in on what you do like and indeed what you need in your design, such as everyday living practicalities.
Then you need to start preparing your plans. You can do this yourself or use a qualified designer, landscaper or tiler. You may already have a mental idea of what you want, but even with the smallest of area, it is always good to have a sketched plan with measurements. It is always useful when buying the product as then we can get a good idea of what you need.
One point to make is that you should always do your research. A design is great, but unless you are an experienced DIY hand, or have reliable friends and family, then it is always advisable to consult a qualified tiler or landscaper regarding the groundwork required. Regarding exterior work then this may involve digging out, raising ground and checking ground levels against any damp courses if necessary. Regarding the interior, this may involve having a level floor, cuttings due to existing fixtures and ensuring the correct laying method is used due to variables.
That old saying ‘fail to prepare, prepare to fail’ is never so true as with landscaping and interior tiling. We offer a quality range of products, but they need to be installed correctly to achieve the right result.
When it comes to ordering your product, you can do this over the phone or come in and discuss your requirements. Either way, it’s always best not to book your landscaper or tiler until the products are due to be delivered to your site.
If you follow all the steps above then you are set to create a dream home and garden. This way you can ensure that everything goes as smoothly as possible. It will also ensure that you are happy with every stage of the process. If you need any guidance on laying or the product then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with one of our team!
I will be writing another follow up blog regarding a guide to laying and also other points regarding pre-orders and our ranges.
